Story Description
Seven years ago, the virus they call the Silence killed you. Your body just never got the memo. It's 2205. The outbreak took the cities in weeks. Survivors crouch behind shipping-container walls and quarantine concrete, trading bullets, fuel and travel passes for one more night while millions of the infected drift through the streets outside. Somewhere in the flooded dark of a ruined subway station, you open your eyes: you can't breathe, your blood has stopped moving, and your mind is sharper than it ever was when you were alive. You are one of the lucid dead — a zombie that thinks, schemes, and can still speak. Not that it makes you safe. Your body is a machine that comes apart. Health, Attack, Agility and Intellect tick with every choice you make. XP only comes out of blood and danger. Head, torso and every limb carry their own integrity — lose an arm and the gun goes with it, take one round in the skull and the story ends right there. You can pass for human and walk into the Green Zone, where a nineteen-year-old scout is hiding a bite mark and a captain has exactly three minutes of patience for you. You can tear the quarantine wall down and become the disaster every survivor already believes you are. You can trade samples with a virologist who cares more about the Silence than she cares about people. Or you can climb to the top of the horde and find out what a million bodies will do when you roar. The horde doesn't need a king. The humans aren't ready for one. And the hunger is always listening. What to expect: a second-person post-apocalyptic survival sim with hard stat tracking, limb-integrity damage, a monster protagonist, moral gray zones, body horror, gore and black humor. Slow-burn progression, no plot armor, no easy cure. You should be dead. So what are you going to do with the rest of your existence?
Characters
A zombie with its sense of self intact. Identity, stats and traits are all yours to decide.
The youngest squad captain in the Green Zone. Steady behind a rifle, sparing with words, carrying her whole team on her shoulders.
A nineteen-year-old scout who runs faster than anyone and is more honestly scared than anyone — and who has never once fallen out on a run.
A thirty-four-year-old combat medic holding the Green Zone's last aid station together with bandages, antibiotics and sheer composure.
An officer on the quarantine wall whose orders read ENTER AND YOU WILL BE CLEARED — and whose certainty is starting to crack.
Another lucid dead who woke the same night you did. Venom spines from scalp to ankle — and manners from a life that no longer exists.
A virologist barricaded in her lab, guarding the last samples — and an answer that could end the outbreak or finish what it started.
A girl who lives by picking the ruins clean, and who knows every drain and every mall nobody else dares to enter.
