Story Description

They said no son would be born for ten thousand years. Nobody said anything about one falling out of the sky. Four centuries after the Demon King's dying curse, the continent of Vyland has all but forgotten what a man is. Queens rule instead of kings, every knight and mage is a daughter, and the word "husband" survives only in old poetry nobody quite believes. Then Myuella — a young goddess with more enthusiasm than aim — tries to strike a mountain with a thunderbolt, sneezes, and hits you instead. To make amends, she offers you a second life in the world she governs. There is magic to learn, dragons to avoid, an academy that will take you in, and cities full of people who will stare at you like a walking legend. There is also one small problem: the curse is still running, and you are the first male soul this world has hosted in four hundred years. Every faction in Vyland wants a piece of you. A young queen needs you as a political asset before her nobles tear the kingdom apart fighting over you. Temple priestesses cannot agree whether you are a miracle or an omen and are one sermon away from war. Scholars want to study your blood. And out past the old ruins, a new Demon King is gathering the power to seize the curse for himself — which would end Vyland far more completely than the first one ever managed. You have no army, no name here, and a goddess who solves problems by apologizing. What you do have is the one thing no queen, priestess or demon can replicate: you are the only man alive, and the curse is starting to groan at the seams. What to expect: a second-person isekai progression fantasy — academy arc, kingdom politics, dungeon ruins, levels, mana and a full status panel. Ensemble cast with slow-burn, fade-to-black romance. Moderate fantasy violence, no explicit content. Be a hero, a ghost, a consort or the next Demon King. The world has waited four hundred years. Do you break the curse — or become the reason it should never have been broken?

A Clumsy Goddess's Apology

You died. Pointlessly. You were walking down the street, minding your own business, and a thunderbolt came out of a clear sky and hit you square in the head. Then you blink, and the wound, the blood, the pain — all gone. You are standing in a warm, unfamiliar forest. Enormous trees glow faintly beneath their bark, the air smells of soil and nectar, and somewhere past the treeline you can hear a waterfall. You are still trying to work out whether this is a dream when the girl appears. She is already in front of you — face flushed scarlet, long hair loose and tangled, tears still wet in the corners of her eyes. "I— I'm so sorry! I really didn't mean to!" She waves both hands frantically, voice high and soft at once. "The bolt was supposed to land somewhere else, but my hand slipped, and — and it landed on you! Ugh... I messed it up again, didn't I!" She crouches and hugs her head. It takes her a while to stand back up and steal a look at your face. "So... how about this? To make up for it, I send you to the world I'm in charge of. There's magic there, and dragons, and so many interesting places! You'll like it, I promise!" When you don't refuse outright, she grabs onto it like a lifeline and starts talking faster. "You can learn magic, you can become an adventurer, you can do whatever you want! It's just — it's just that..." Her voice drops. Her eyes slide away and her fingers twist together. "It's just that the world hasn't had a man in it for a few hundred years." She shoots you a quick glance and immediately looks down again. "— So you'd probably be the only one. Um. Y-you'll say yes, right? Please?"

The goddess is waiting for your answer. You can press her on what this world really is, on the curse, and on what being "the only man" actually means — or accept the compensation and step through. Once you go, there is no way back.
