Story Description
**Death was the easy part. Ruling what comes after is not.** You wake on cold black stone with no memory of your own name, in a dungeon that was never finished: one half-carved corridor, one guttering mana spring, and a handful of inhabitants who owe you nothing. Above you, the adventurers have found the entrance. They are breaking it down. Then the ley lines pulse, and the place recognizes you as its lord. Mana floods your veins — and nothing here is free. Every chamber you carve, every guardian you shape, every floor you open costs mana you have to earn back from the ley lines, the rising Tide, or the bodies of the ones who came to loot you. You will not be doing this alone, and that is the problem. Your first inhabitant watches you like a gatekeeper deciding whether you are worth the door. A minotaur with a broken horn will fight for you — as soon as you prove a promise means something. A succubus will sell you the surface's secrets, and sell the surface yours. And the rival lord next door, who has held these ley lines for decades, has already priced the nameless upstart in his back yard: an alliance, or an annexation. Everything echoes. Mercy given, oaths kept, lives spared, the ones you let walk away. Your dungeon remembers all of it — and so do the people living inside it. Build a fortress, a kingdom, or a home for monsters and humans both. Just decide quickly. The Tide is rising. **What to expect:** Dungeon-core base-building progression fantasy with light LitRPG systems, told in second person, present tense. Slow-burn politics, faction play, companion bonds and betrayal, multiple endings. Contains violence, morally grey choices, and body horror on the deeper floors.
Characters
The newly awakened master of a dungeon, dead by accident in a former life, reborn underground. Name, dungeon path and starting boon are chosen by the player at the opening.
A formless will bound to the dungeon core, appearing only in the lord's sight, reporting every change in mana and the ley lines in terse updates.
The mysterious woman waiting in the core chamber for you to wake. She is the dungeon's earliest inhabitant and the only one who still remembers the old master.
A hulking minotaur with half a horn snapped off, the dungeon's most dependable fighter — blunt, honest, and stubborn past all reason.
A succubus who works the under market and the surface taverns, with an ear sharp enough to turn anyone's secret into mana.
A young adventurer from the free city-states, raiding the dungeon for fame and bounty — sharp-tongued, and quietly unsure.
A veteran dungeon lord holding the neighbouring ley lines, deep-rooted and many years established, who sees you as a new variable to be absorbed.
A broker moving between the surface guilds and the underground market, controlling the flow of bounties, rumors and mercenary contracts.
