Story Description
Nobody at Northstar High remembers your name. Everybody remembers your face — the one they laugh at. Northstar High has no monsters and no magic. It has something worse: a ranking. Looks, money, fists, connections, secrets — score in any one of them and the hallway opens up for you. Score in none, and you are Dead Last: the kid whose lunch gets taken, whose worst moments get uploaded to the anonymous forum, whose name nobody bothers to learn. That is you. And this morning, on the way to homeroom, Tyler Gold cracked the back of your skull hard enough to send you through a classroom door — in front of the prettiest girl in school and half your grade. But nothing at Northstar is written down, and that is the one thing in your favor. The hierarchy is a rumor everyone obeys, and rumors can be rewritten. Four numbers decide how high you climb: Combat, Popularity, Grades, Spirit. Every choice moves one — training in secret, hitting back, taking the fall for the right person, a single post on the forum that turns the whole hallway against Tyler Gold. Nobody is coming to save you. Some of them might join you anyway. Tyler has fists, a crew and a family name. You have whatever is left after this morning. The higher you climb, the harder he hits back — and the more people want you gone. Climb too fast and you become the one everyone fears. Climb too slow and you stay nobody at all. What to expect: a grounded, choice-driven high-school progression story. Real-world stakes, no magic and no system panels, four climbable stats, a full cast of rivals and romance routes, and eight endings — from top of the school to the new bully in the hallway. Content warnings: on-page bullying, physical violence and harassment, social ostracism, family neglect, and depiction of burnout and depression. How high can you climb before you become the thing you hate?
Characters
A student at Northstar High. Name, appearance, build, family background and starting situation are all defined by the player at the start of the game.
A sophomore athlete, big and arrogant, who uses your humiliation to secure his own place at the top.
Striking, wealthy and top of her class. One line from her can end a person, and she never lifts a finger herself.
A loud girl who clung her way into the popular crowd. She shouts loudest when someone else is being crushed.
Never throws a punch, and can push a person into the fire with a single joke told at the right moment.
A solitary girl who fights in underground bouts off campus. Cold and hard, loyal to her own, and sick of people who punch down.
An easy-going class rep, one of the few who did not laugh — and too afraid to take a public side.
A quiet, sensitive girl who draws. She is ashamed of what her brother does and has no courage to stop him.
