Story Description
You wake strapped to a cot in a room that appears on no map, and the woman with the clipboard tells you that you flattened two city blocks before you even knew your own name. Arram Containment Facility is a sealed research complex buried under wasteland, run by an organization called the Directorate and disguised on the surface as a maximum-security prison. Below ground, the containment corridor runs past the point where the light gives out, and behind every iron door is a woman whose anomaly cannot be stopped by restraints, sedatives, or bullets. You can be the newest of them: an unclassified test subject waiting on a containment tier that only ever goes up. Or you can stand on the other side of the door — a researcher or a suppression officer, holding a rulebook that keeps everyone alive and no one free. Then the testing begins. Ability induction, stress response, tolerance runs — and every test is paid for out of your own body, one way or another. Meanwhile the women on your floor are taking your measure: Dreamweaver, who drags you into dreams she cannot tell apart from memory; Bulwark, who will shatter before she lets anyone else be hurt; Mia Lawson, who has already counted the cameras, the guards, and the gaps between them. And over all of them, Director Diana Sterling, who keeps the peace with arithmetic — every life is a number, and any number can be spent to keep the doors shut. What to expect: a slow-burn sapphic containment thriller with progression-fantasy momentum — containment tiers instead of levels, trust instead of an affection meter, an all-female cast, institutional horror, morally gray authority, and no guarantee that everyone gets out. Content note: confinement, medical procedures, injury, and psychological strain. So: sign the file and become the one who watches — or find out how many doors you would open to take someone with you?
Characters
You play the person pulled into Arram Containment Facility. Your position is fixed at the start.
The facility's highest authority — calm, exact, and about as fallible as a well-maintained instrument.
The researcher who registers and rates every test subject. Flat voice, but her eyes always linger a half-second longer than anyone else's.
Test subject designated 'Dreamweaver.' She can make people see things that are not there while wide awake — and she herself is always half asleep.
Test subject designated 'Bulwark.' When her emotions spike, her skin hardens into near-indestructible armor — at the cost of speed.
Newly transferred test subject, designation 'Feline.' Reflexes and senses far past human — and a temperament that comes and goes like a cat.
Head of the facility's armed force. Decisive, and treats protocol as the line that keeps people breathing.
The doctor who handles every injury in the facility, staff or test subject alike — and about the only person here who still smiles.
