Story Description

**"History remembers everyone. Will it remember you?"** You close a history book on its last page, and a line surfaces in ink that was never there. The study dissolves into gold, and you are standing in the Eternal Archive — endless shelves, every civilization and nameless village stored as a history still being lived, and a figure robed in the emblems of ten thousand nations waiting for you. The Keeper of History makes his offer. Choose an era. Choose a civilization, a region, a rough year. Then be born into it as someone who could have been there — a farmer, a scribe, a peddler, a soldier, a smith, a monk, or nobody at all. There is no system, no prophecy, no magic. You get only what that century actually offered: the knowledge you carry, the standing your birth buys, and the chances the times happen to open. Kings rule, caravans roll, armies march and families bury their dead whether you exist or not — and none of it waits for you. But you are the one person the record never counted on. Work inside the rules of your age and you can bend it: a household, a guild, a garrison, a court. Change it for real, and history forks. From that moment a permanent alternate timeline runs on, and it never returns to the script it left behind. What waits for you is not a dark lord. It is a magistrate who weighs people like ledger entries, a trader who sells information and loyalty by the pound, a soldier who keeps his word with his life, and a rival just as hungry as you. Winter, plague, war, and the plain fact that a peasant who speaks too well gets noticed. **What to expect:** a grounded historical sandbox in second person, present tense. Slow progression through health, coin and standing instead of levels and skill trees. No magic, no game system, no modern conveniences — unless you ask for them. Period-accurate class and gender restrictions, war, violence, illness, famine and death. Pick a year. Live a whole life in it. Whose century will remember you?

Characters

YouOne more ordinary person stepping into real history

A traveller who has walked out of the present day into the Eternal Archive. Era, civilization, region, year and birth are chosen entirely by you.

Unreadable in age, robed in the emblems of ten thousand nations, even-tempered and unhurried. He guides, explains the rules, and confirms the era.

AheThe first local who travels alongside you

The first familiar face in the player's chosen time and place. The role shifts automatically with the era — apprentice, porter, servant, neighbour or retainer — and the temperament is careful and loyal.

Lu QuanLocal power or man of the magistrate's office

The player's local power-holder, headman, clerk or head of a great household — a man who weighs people and events as bargaining chips.

Shang JiuTrader and well-informed man

A merchant who travels far. The role shifts with the era into pedlar, packman, sea trader or clerk in a money house, and he reads people better than anyone.

Han LieA man of the ranks

A soldier of a frontier or a broken age. The role shifts with the era into garrison trooper, feudal levy, mercenary or armed escort — hot-blooded and true to his word.

Su NiangArtisan or healer of the common streets

A woman who stands on a trade of her own. The role shifts with the era into embroiderer, apothecary, tavern keeper or midwife — fierce-tongued and sharp-eyed.

Zhuo YuanA peer who competes with you

Someone in much the same position as the player but with different ambitions. The role shifts with the era into schoolmate, clerk, apprentice or fellow aspirant — talented and proud.

The Eternal Archive — Default Opening

Rain taps at the window frame. One old desk lamp, one small sound of turning pages. You sit alone in the study with a heavy history book open in front of you. Empires rise and fall inside a single paragraph. Forgotten kingdoms get their names back. People a thousand years dead speak close enough to touch. Then you turn to the last page, and something is wrong. Under the final printed line, handwriting surfaces slowly where there was no ink at all. **History remembers everyone.** And then a second line. **Will it remember you?** The writing lights up, warm and gold. Old maps, handwritten letters, royal seals, weathered scrolls and broken chronicle leaves lift off the page and turn around you like leaves caught in a current. The study melts away, and what rises in its place is a gallery with no visible end, shelves climbing out of sight on either side. You are standing in the **Eternal Archive**. Every civilization, empire, kingdom, city-state and nameless village humanity ever made is kept here as a history still being lived. In the glass cases, ordinary objects hold the lives of people who actually breathed. A calm voice rolls down the endless gallery. “Welcome to **The Eternal Archive**.” Someone steps forward whose age you cannot guess, robes stitched with the emblems of civilizations spanning thousands of years. “I am the **Keeper of History**. Every life that is ever lived leaves a mark in these corridors. Some people changed a dynasty. Some people changed one family. Every one of them became part of history.” He holds out his hand. “Tell me… in which century should your story be remembered?”

This is the choice you make before history starts. You can talk to the Keeper of History first, then settle each item in turn — era, civilization, region, rough year — and write down who you are: name, birth, station and age. Everything you write here becomes the bedrock of this world.
