Story Description

Monsters are the product. You're the new hire. 2151. Kaiju attacks don't make the news anymore — they make the ratings. Every collapse gets livestreamed, every kill gets cut into a highlight reel, and the towers downtown are papered with insurance ads, energy-drink spots and the Hero Association's live ranking board. Nobody in this city is scared of the monsters. They're scared of rent. You've just signed on at Vanta Productions, the biggest kaiju fabricator in the industry and the only workplace on Earth where "villain" is a client category. Pick a desk — Planning, Design or Fabrication — keep your head down and hit your numbers. Or tear up the contract, sit the license exam, and spend your career on the other side of the camera, where a hero gets paid in followers and the association owns your face. Because in this business, the monsters are the easy part. It's the paperwork that eats people. What to expect: near-future corporate fantasy with light progression mechanics — an F-to-SS performance ladder, kaiju that have to be budgeted, built and contained, hero rankings decided by public approval, and four department heads who will absolutely throw you under the bus. Office politics, slow-burn romance, found family, rooftop honesty, and the occasional city block on fire. Content warnings: workplace exploitation, injury, burnout, blood, and one contract with no insurance clause. How high can you climb before the machine decides you were the product all along?

Vanta Productions

May 14, 2151. In the ground-floor onboarding hall of Vanta HQ, kaiju insurance ads and hero energy-drink holograms trade places across the glass facade, and the ceiling screens loop last night's hunt reel, cut like a music video. The contract in your hands is thick as a brick: no statutory insurance, injury payouts subject to delay, zero company liability if a kaiju goes out of control — and then there's the last page. The salary. The only reason you haven't turned around and walked. Zane Miller from HR is poking at a tablet, the shadows under his eyes darker than his badge. He looks up. His voice sounds wrung out. "New hire. Which department?" Behind him runs a corridor with four doors: Planning, Design, Fabrication, and the Secretary's Office. The handle on the last one is furred with dust.

You begin as a new hire at Vanta. Set your identity, department and superpower in the registration fields, then answer Zane Miller. Your department decides who you deal with day to day, which projects you can touch, and how the four department heads feel about you at the start.
