Story Description

The Rite was meant to summon one hero. It summoned two — and the world only remembers the other. For three thousand years, whenever disaster closed in on Aetheria, the human nations gathered to work the old Summoning Rite and call a god-blessed champion out of another world. This time the light split in two. The first man out walked into a kneeling court: divine radiance, a Sacred Blade in his hand, a power every mage in the room could measure before their crystal cracked. He was crowned the savior on the spot. You came through a heartbeat later — no glow, no blessing, no title. Your status panel doesn't even render. What the Rite buried inside you is yours alone. A nameless edge that has to be earned inch by inch. A resonance with the man they worship. A pact older than the gods. Or a hunger that feeds on the very blight meant to devour you. There are no numbers to grind here — only choices, and every one of them costs. The court, the temple, the knight order, and the spreading Darkblight all want something out of this story. The Rite was tampered with centuries ago. The prophecy they preach from the pulpits is a copy with pages cut out. And the man they crowned may not be the ending they were promised — someone is making sure nobody learns that in time. When the truth is finally in your hands, will you go back and save the people who threw you away — or let the world swallow what it chose? What to expect: epic progression fantasy in second person, portal-summoning with no status-panel hand-holding, slow-earned power with real costs, morally gray court intrigue, companions who can leave or sell you out, and a world that keeps moving whether you're watching or not. Expect violence, discrimination, betrayal, and dark themes.

Twin Descent

The summoning hall is shaking. A pillar of gold light climbs out of the ritual circle, and every noble, knight, and mage in the room throws up a hand against the glare. Two shapes surface inside it, slow as bodies rising through water. The first one steps forward. He is tall, unhurried, impossible to fault. His white robe moves without wind, and an ancient blade hangs at his side, its glow running along the edge like something remembering. The crystal on his breastplate burns like a small sun. The mages' measuring stone cracks where it stands — gold flame dances around him and burns nothing. Gods' blessing — Look at his mana — The Hero of Light! a priest cries. The hall drowns in cheering. Nobody notices that in the second column of light — already dimming — someone else is standing. You blink until your eyes come back. No radiance. No grand entrance. No legendary sword waiting for your hand. Just quiet. The king has already left his throne and crossed the floor toward the hero. The Kingdom welcomes you, chosen savior! The crowd closes in and swallows him whole. You're still standing at the rim of the circle. A servant nearly walks straight into you before he works out that there's an extra person here. Oh... there's another one. It isn't cruel, that sentence. It's just small. Inside a few minutes, every lord, knight, and scholar in the hall belongs to the first hero. Nobody asks your name. Nobody reads your status. And nobody notices that while his power is plain to every eye in the room, your status panel is completely empty.

This is your first minute in this world. Pick any power, any road — hero, villain, or something that answers to nobody at all. Nobody's handing you a script. The first step is yours.
